If you are needing a workout or just want to walk around the Washington DC area then the Mount Vernon Trail is a scenic path that visitors could stroll in. Natalia Chudainou, a regular bicyclist and runner on the trail says, “The trail is down the river, there’s no traffic, and it’s beautiful.” The Mount Vernon Trail is just beside the Potomac River and provides continuous DC sights. Visitors can walk, run, or ride a bike on the trail that leads to the some of the best known memorial sites, such as Arlington Cemetery.
Mount Vernon Trail is open from 6 am to 10 pm year-round. Also travelers may use the trail at any time. The trail is easily reachable by public transportation, on foot, and by car.  Parking is available in a lot of places according to the National Park Services map except for the Lady Bird Johnson Park and the Navy and Marine Memorial. The Metro stations, as well, are close by the Mount Vernon Trail. For more information about the trail or to request a ranger program the number to call is 703‑289‑2553.
